To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

As we transition out of summer and into fall, I am discovering that there is a purpose behind every season in life. As the seasonal weather changes, it seems as though my life is changing along with it. With the crisp autumn air, falling leaves, and back to school…Fall signifies a time for change, transition, and new beginnings. Similarly to Fall, the season that I am currently in shares the exact qualities. Just recently our family moved from Hawaii back to our hometown on the mainland. My husband is in the middle of his transition out of the military back into a civilian lifestyle. Our children are entering into their own personal changes as well. Within the next couple of months our 10 month old will be entering toddlerhood and our 3 year old will be starting preschool. All of these events is requiring a great adjustment for our family. As I think back on the previous seasons in my life…the different challenges I faced, the places I’ve been, and the people I’ve met, I realize that it all took place for a particular purpose and time. I don’t believe things just happen out of coincidence. Whether good or bad, God allows certain things to happen in our lives to shape, prune, purge, mold, and refine us. Each new season that we face in life has a purpose. God will also send people in our lives in the midst of our seasonal journeys. Ever heard the saying people will come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime? There is a purpose behind our relationships. If God is bringing a individuals into your life then there is a reason that they are there. When God has ordained people to cross paths into each other lives , it may not be for a lifetime, but those individuals may be there for a time to help, encourage, and strengthen you during your seasonal journey and vise versa. I know within the past five years I’ve met some pretty amazing people who has each blessed me in there own way and I pray that I have done the same for them. Sometimes people stumble into our lives who were never meant to be there, but even in those relationships there is a lesson that is learned.

As I enter into this season of transition and new beginnings , it can feel a bit intimating not fully knowing what lies ahead. Even though it seem like I am returning to what is familiar, there is still a great deal of uncertainty. At the same time however, it feels as though my family is off to a fresh start for something great! As long as we keep Christ in the center of our lives, He will continue to lead us and direct our paths.

I’m excited to see what is in store. I wonder what will the Lord be teaching me in this new season. What will God do in this time in my life? How will He work through my husband and our children? Who will we minister to , reach and connect with? It is all in the matter of time when I shall see the purpose of this season as I walk in the path God has prepared for me.
